The gelato is popular at Lush on Bondi. Mostly the gelato fridge looks trashed but if you catch it early in the morning it can look pretty good. This lot was tidied up by Paolo. Unfortunately, it doesn't stay like this for long. Thanks, Paolo.

Brilliant weather brought the crowds and Lush on Bondi worked hard keeping the customers satisfied.

Coogee, actually, on the big day.

This one was taken at Coogee, a couple of beaches south from Bondi. Coogee faces more East than Bondi and conditions there were awesome. Guys were out there.

The combination of a low pressure system in the south of the Tasman Sea and strong south westerly winds create a much larger than normal swell that brings big seas to the NSW coast. They say these might have been the biggest for 30 years - up to 9 metres at some beaches - but I'd be surprised if that was the case at Bondi. The beach was closed and nobody - even the most intrepid - ventured out. The first photo here is from Waverley Council's website - I was too stupid to get some shots from ground level!
