Memories of 1770

We don't see this too often. It must have looked this way to the Cadigal people as Cook sailed up the coast in 1770.

City to Surf - August 13, 2006

One of the biggest days of the year at Bondi Beach. This year over 63,000 people ran, walked and pushed the 14km from Hyde Park in the City to the Bondi surf. It was a perfect late winter day, ideal for the run. The winner covered the distance in just over 40 minutes, the stragglers were still arriving 4 hours later.


Campbell Parade was a sea of runners for several hours. Here they are making the final turn into the beachfront ....

Afterwards it was a swim for many .....

...... or some corporate hospitality on the sand.

Everybody says we should have a big day, but Lush is closed on City to Surf day. Under our lease we have to make way for the big event. It's the only weekend of the year we close.
